{"id":11285,"date":"2021-07-26T16:00:37","date_gmt":"2021-07-26T15:00:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.dexeuscampus.com\/sin-categorizar\/early-detection-of-serum-progesterone-levels-key-in-frozen-embryo-transfer\/"},"modified":"2024-05-13T11:06:20","modified_gmt":"2024-05-13T10:06:20","slug":"early-detection-serum-progesterone-frozen-embryo-transfer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.dexeuscampus.com\/en\/blog\/assisted-reproduction\/early-detection-serum-progesterone-frozen-embryo-transfer\/","title":{"rendered":"Early detection of serum progesterone levels, key in frozen embryo transfer"},"content":{"rendered":"\t\t<div data-elementor-type=\"wp-post\" data-elementor-id=\"11285\" class=\"elementor elementor-11285 elementor-5029\" data-elementor-post-type=\"post\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-6fe8da35 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"6fe8da35\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-4ac1c556\" data-id=\"4ac1c556\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4e825446 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4e825446\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Based on previous studies that suggested a positive impact of adequate serum progesterone levels in cycles of artificial endometrial preparation, <strong>Dr Sofia Gaggiotti<\/strong>, during her activity at the Reproductive Medicine Service of Dexeus Mujer, has carried out various studies and a prospective work in order to provide useful information that helps professionals to determine the best strategy to follow in the supplementation of this hormone in patients with low levels.<\/p>\n<p>The results of her thesis, based on the analysis of four different studies available online (we attach a link and reference at the end of this newsletter), reveal that the minimum level of progesterone necessary to improve reproductive results is around 10 ng \/ mL.<br \/>Dr Gaggiotti observed that patients with a level higher or similar to this cut-off point had a lower abortion rate and a higher rate of live births compared to patients with lower levels.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, her studies indicate that approximately 38% of patients who undergo this treatment may have low levels of this hormone, and that factors such as age, weight, a history of low levels of this hormone and the time at which the serum determination is made with respect to the last dose administered, are factors that can predict this problem.
