Ovarian stimulation in both the follicular and luteal phases of the same cycle is an innovative strategy to retrieve more oocytes in a shorter time frame. This approach is therefore particularly attractive for patients with a poor ovarian response.

The team of clinicians and scientists from Dexeus Fertility, the Department of Reproductive Medicine of Dexeus University Hospital in Barcelona (Spain), attended the annual Congress of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), which was held in Amsterdam from 7 to 10 July.

A group of researchers from Dexeus Mujer have carried out a prospective study to assess whether ovarian stimulation primed with oral micronized progesterone, compared to a GnRH antagonist protocol, can affect the yield of euploid blastocysts.

Embryologist Gemma Arroyo, coordinator of the Embryology Group of ESHRE and one of the directors of the IVF laboratories at Dexeus Mujer, was part of the working group that developed this guideline aimed at both patients and professionals.

From 25th to 27th April, an international congress on reproductive medicine was held in Barcelona. The event was organised by the Dexeus Mujer Foundation, chaired by Dr Pedro Barri, under the scientific direction of Dr Nikolaos Polyzos, Head of the Reproductive Medicine Unit at Dexeus Mujer.

The European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology has awarded Dexeus Mujer with the certificate of good clinical and laboratory practices. This accreditation is a guarantee that all processes related to these services meet the highest standards of safety and quality and attests to the quality of the working system of our centre.

Dexeus Mujer has participated in the 34th National Congress of the Spanish Fertility Society and the 9th Congress of Reproductive Nursing, which took place from 23 to 25 May in A Coruña.
