The team from the Reproductive Medicine Service at Dexeus Mujer actively participated in the latest National Congress of the Spanish Fertility Society (SEF), cheld in Seville from May 6 to 9. This is the main scientific meeting in Spain in the field of reproductive medicine and a key forum for knowledge exchange and professional collaboration. As every year, the event coincided with the National Congress of Reproductive Nursing, qwhich this year celebrated its 10th edition.
In total, Dexeus Mujer presented six oral communications, two lectures, and moderated several sessions. Specifically, Dr Gabriela Palacios, from the Medical Genetics Unit, delivered the lecture “Screening of polygenic embryos and development of genealogical databases: future impact on assisted reproduction”, and Dr Elisabet Clua, head of the Oocyte and Embryo Donation Program and member of the SEF Gamete Donation Interest Group, presented the Consensus Document on “Monitoring donors and donations: regulations, operations, and ethical aspects”.
Meanwhile, Dr Mónica Parriego, head of the Dexeus Mujer Reproduction Laboratory, and Lluc Coll, biologist from the Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) laboratory, presented two oral communications:Does blastocyst configuration influence the timing of biopsy? Clinical evidence after euploid embryo transfer” and “Follow-up of prenatal diagnosis after PGT-M: low adherence to recommendations and variability according to clinical profile”, respectively.
Other Dexeus Mujer experts who presented oral communications at the Congress include Marta Roca, specialist in Reproductive Biology (Altered sperm FISH in oocyte‑donation cycles: what is the role of PGT-A? , Dr Núria Murcia (“Estradiol levels the day before embryo transfer are not associated with live birth rates in women undergoing frozen embryo transfer in an artificial cycle with a single euploid blastocyst”), Dr Valeria Donno, head of R&D in the Reproduction Service (“Can pre-transfer endometrial thickness influence PLGF levels during the first trimester of pregnancy?”) and Dr Dalia Rodríguez who presented a communication on endometriosis: “Endometriosis and endometrial microbiota: does the risk of dysbiosis change?”. Dr Marta Devesa, head of the Assisted Reproduction Service at Dexeus Mujer, and Dr Montse Boada, head of the Biology Section at Dexeus Mujer, acted as moderators in several oral sessions.
Additionally, Dr Silvia Grau, reproductive medicine specialist at Dexeus Mujer in the Vallès area, has been appointed the new coordinator of the SEF Reproductive Endocrinology Interest Group, which now also includes Dr Ainhoa Coco from Dexeus Mujer.
New SEF Executive Board
During the congress, the new SEF Executive Board was also announced, marked by a historic milestone: for the first time, the society will be chaired by a woman, Elisa Gil, whose career and leadership represent a significant step forward in female representation within the specialty. The Executive Board also includes Dr Marta Devesa, Head of the Reproductive Medicine Service at Dexeus Mujer, who continues her role as treasurer.
