On 5 June, the Teaching Department of Hospital Universitari Dexeus held the welcome ceremony for the new medical residents (MIR) who have chosen to complete their specialty training at the Hospital over the coming years.
A total of seven residents are joining this year: three in the area of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, one in Traumatology, one in Anaesthesiology, and, for the first time, one in Paediatrics plus an EMIR in Paediatric Nursing. In the area of Gynaecology and Obstetrics, the doctors joining this year are Ada Griera, Anna Morral and María Mosegui.
The Teaching Committee also announced the winners of the Awards granted to the best scientific articles published during the year.
The award recipients were Dr Marta Homs , specialist in Anaesthesiology, Resuscitation and Pain Therapy at Hospital Universitari Dexeus, for the study: “Efficacy of Autologous Conditioned Serum on the Dorsal Root Ganglion in Patients with Chronic Radicular Pain: Prospective Randomized Placebo-Controlled Double Blind Clinical Trial (RADISAC Trial), J. Clin. Med. 2025, selected as the best article published in an international journal; and Dr Francesc Tresserra, for his article: “Management of second opinions in pathology: Recommendations of the Spanish Society of Anatomical Pathology (SEAP). Second opinions in pathology”, published in the Revista Española de Patología in September 2025, voted as the best article published in a national journal.
The ceremony was opened by Dr Rosa Borràs , Chair of the Teaching Committee of Hospital Universitari Dexeus, and was attended by Dr Sabina Molina, Medical Director, and Dr Inmaculada Amenós , Director of Nursing, representing the Hospital’s Management. Representatives of the medical, teaching and management teams of Dexeus Mujer were also present, including Dr Manuel Álvarez, Dr Pere Barri, Dr Montse Boada and Dr Núria Barbany. .
The Dr Mercè Riera, specialist in Anaesthesiology at Hospital Universitari Dexeus, closed the event with the keynote lecture: “History of Anaesthesia”.
